Traumatic Brain Injury

Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) is a change in brain function, or other evidence of brain damage caused by an external force. Traumatic impact injuries can be closed (non-penetrating) or open (penetrating).

Examples of a TBI include:

  • Falls
  • Motor vehicle accidents
  • sports Accidents
  • Assault
  • Gunshot/stabbing
  • Military actions

Causes of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI)

Brain Injury can result from a variety of traumas and is most often seen as a result of car accidents, falls or an external force.
