The frontal lobe can be divided into the pre-frontal cortex (anterior portion of the head) and the motor strip (curves over the top of the head). The functions of this lobe include:
Planning and organizing
Problem solving and judgement
Attention
Personality, behavior and emotional control
Executive functions
Spoken language (left frontal lobe) – Broca’s area
Frontal lobe injury can result in trouble:
Getting started on tasks (Initiation)
Being flexible with change
Controlling emotions and impulses
Expressing thoughts accurately
Setting appropriate goals and planning to achieve them
