Camp Bruce McCoy

camper on horse BIAV is excited to host its 34th annual Camp Bruce McCoy! We’re headed back to the Triple R Ranch in Chesapeake, a wonderful outdoor summer camp, perfect for our needs for the two weeks of camp. Dates for this year’s camp are May 21 - 27 and May 28 - June 3, 2017.

Camp activities are modified to meet the needs of nearly all levels of mobility and cognition, providing a wonderful experience to all of our campers. Activities include horseback riding, archery, riflery, fishing, canoeing, arts and crafts, and swimming. Each week’s evening events are exciting and diverse and include a modified softball or kickball game, a dance, karaoke night, and a campfire complete with talent shows and s’mores. The memories made at camp last a lifetime - campers have been known to say that camp is their favorite time of the year and many count the months and weeks until the group comes together again for this once in a lifetime experience!

The cost per week for camp is $535. Campers are initially accepted for one week; however there is the option to be placed on the wait list for both weeks plus mini-camp ($85 for weekend mini-camp). Please don’t delay submitting your application based on financial needs! Scholarships may be available for new and returning campers thanks to the generosity of the community and our faithful donors. We also have resources available to help you raise finances for camp. Please contact the BIAV office with any questions or for applications for prospective campers.campers in canoes
