Study Participants Sought
Dr. Kelli Williams Gary from Virginia Commonwealth University in partnership with the Brain Injury Association of Virginia is trying to better understand the experiences of African Americans and their caregivers after traumatic brain injury. VCU is conducting a research study examining the experiences of African Americans returning to work, school, or volunteer and leisure activities in the community and feelings about their quality of life after traumatic brain injury (TBI). They also want to interview one primary caregiver to discuss what they perceive as family needs and their quality of life after injury. This information will be used to develop a cultural family intervention after brain injury for African Americans.
